Kure Beach Police, Fire & Public Works

It’s the time of the year again when we can show our appreciation to our dedicated civil servants.
Any Village or Keys resident that would like to contribute to the Holiday Fund for the Town of Kure Beach first responders and Public Works employees should stop in the office to donate. Last year the Village and Keys HOA members raised almost $900.00 for the cause.

Keep in mind that all contributions will be equally distributed to the Police, Fire & Public Works employees

We are fortunate to live in a wonderful community and the employees of the Town of Kure Beach do a great job in keeping our community a great place to live.

COYOTE ALERT!

COYOTE ALERT!

Keys residents have reported seeing coyotes in our neighborhood recently. They appear to be going to the pond for water, but residents are advised to use caution especially at night when they are most active.

Coyotes resemble small German shepherds but have wide pointed ears and often a black tip on their tails. They feed on mice, squirrels, rabbits, deer, fruit, carrion and garbage (if available). Unsupervised pets, especially cats and small dogs are in danger!

NEVER FEED COYOTES!

Food sources include bird seed and pet food.

EMERGENCY ALERT

EMERGENCY ALERT

BRIDGE CLOSING AND 2:30 PM UPDATE

Due to the wind speeds, the Snow’s Cut Bridge in Carolina Beach will be closing at 2:30 pm. Per the town’s emergency declaration, the town will be implementing a curfew throughout the town. Kure Beach Police officers will be informing citizens to return to their properties during the curfew. Emergency personnel (Police, Fire, Building Inspections and Public Works) will continue to respond to issues throughout the town as long as it is safe to do so. Public Works continues to ensure that storm water drains remain clear and are monitoring problem areas. A large part of the town is without power and will most likely be without power until the storm has passed by our area. Please be careful with candles and any cooking utilizing propane or charcoal grills. The town expects to continue to have tropical storm force winds throughout the evening and into the early hours of Sunday. Be safe.
