Dear Keys Homeowners & Residents,
This is the year that Canady and Sons will complete the termite treatment for all the townhouses. Unlike the years when they only do a visual inspection, this year they will apply a treatment to exterminate and prevent termite infestation. These treatments will be done individually, on a schedule, throughout the fall. These treatments will not require access to the garages. However, unimpeded access to the crawlspace will be necessary. The following is a summary, from Canady, of the process:
During the termite treatments, our techs will trench and treat at the base of the foundation of all homes on the outside. Any stored items at the base of the foundation must be moved 3 feet away from the foundation to allow room to treat. After treatment, this area will be wet, so people and pets do not need to walk in this area until the chemical is dry. All decks must be made accessible for techs to crawl under and treat. The techs will drill and treat drives close to the house foundation. They will remove the existing drill holes and rod new chemicals under the slab and patch the holes with cork and concrete. The techs will also trench and treat in the crawl space around each pillar and along the base of the foundation of the crawl walls, for homes that have crawl spaces that have been encapsulated, and the plastic is attached to the walls/ pillars-the techs will carefully cut the plastic away from the pillars only and treat around the pillars and retape the plastic around the pillars. For treatment in crawl spaces that are encapsulated, and the plastic is not attached to the walls and pillars, the techs will pull the plastic back if possible and treat the crawl foundation walls and pillars. Thank you.
You will be sent a reminder closer to the implementation of the treatment. Your cooperation in this important endeavor is appreciated.
