These are the minutes from the First Landscaping Beautification Planning Committee Meeting. It is very exciting that we have nine members of our community who have volunteered to serve on this committee.
North Carolina Utilities has been contacted to mark utility lines for water, sewer, Charter, AT&T and Duke Energy prior to removal of stumps. They will be here marking the lines with various color of flags or by spraying those colors on the ground in many locations in the KEYS from January 14 to February 2.
Utility lines must be marked before any stumps can be removed. I have tried to identify areas where stumps are located. If I have missed any, we will need to do those later.
I just wanted you to be aware of what was going on when you see line locator lines being marked in the yards.

The first Keys HOA Board Meeting of 2021 is scheduled for Thursday, January 7th, 2021. Homeowners are invited to attend via Zoom; Details for joining the meeting will be emailed. The agenda of this meeting is as follows,

Currently we are reacting to landscape requests and not focusing on developing a realistic comprehensive landscape plan for our community. Quite honestly, I do not have the knowledge to develop such a plan. So far, two residents have expressed an interest in serving on this committee. Three-Five residents are needed otherwise, I will assume residents are not interested in developing a realistic landscape beautification plan for our community.
This plan could include options for choices of trees, bushes and flowers so that each building home owner can make realistic selections while maintaining continuity in our community. My initial thought is that nine buildings would be completed each year, but the committee could certainly develop the parameters.

We are very sorry to share with you the passing of Betty Swann. Betty was a long time resident of the Keys and had served on Keys HOA Board. Betty was under hospice care at Trinity Grove nursing home when she passed on last night.
We offer our deepest condolences to Conrad and his family.
